1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling, the i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is a good option for those who want a fully automated, hands-off cleaning experience but are willing to manually empty the robot's dustbin when it is full.
Both robots excel at picking up surface debris off carpets and hard floors and they're very adept at moving around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home that aid the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. However unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots we tested the i3+ does not have any obstacle-avoidance features and therefore it could be stuck on things like socks or power cords, and it can have difficulty traversing transitions across surfaces like from hardwood to rug.
iRobot suggests that you clean up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other items it might encounter. Also, keep the dustbin and filter free of dirt to prevent them from becoming clogged. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station, and it automatically takes the dirt out of the docking station’s external dustbin. It then continues cleaning from where it began. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for approximately an hour and a half of continuous use. It takes around three hours to fully recharge.
2. iRobot i7+ Roomba
The iRobot i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and comes with the latest technology. It is self-charging and self-navigating, but the most significant feature is its auto-emptying bin. This will eliminate the need for regular maintenance.
The Roomba I7+ can make rooms more efficient maps using Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and direct your robot by voice or via the app.
In our testing, the i7+ was quicker and more maneuverable than our second-placed model, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surfaces types, including carpeting. Its main advantage over the eufy, though the dust bin is self-emptying, which removes a major source of maintenance and cuts down on recurring costs.
We were also impressed by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning routines, move itself around the room and sweep an area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and easy with the iRobot Home app. We were able, once connected, to give voice commands to the i7+, for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world of vacuums that are cordless and look like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model feels like an old-fashioned sports car. It has the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of households and can fit in well next to a coffee table or on the bookshelf, that you can spin around like a magic tool.

The V10 is powered by seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries, which produces power without fading for 60 minutes. robotic vacuum cleaner best advanced whole-machine filter system captures allergens and expels cleaner air back into your home. The specialized head uses rigid nylon bristles that penetrate deep into carpets, and then pick up large dust or crumbs. It comes with three suction settings to suit the task that is being completed. It can quickly switch from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum and vice versa.
This model has a dock which charges the Dyson to 100 percent in 3.5 hours. It also offers the ability to connect two attachments and a wand. This is a huge improvement over earlier Dysons that require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.
The biggest issue with the V10 is its limited run time. Its marketing claims that it can last up to 60 minutes of run time are misleading, as CR's testing shows. This is a common, not exceptional, battery-powered vacuum's run time. It's enough time to sweep a typical-sized home however, it's not enough time to reach every spot. (A second time generally works). That's not to say this model doesn't have its benefits: It's lighter and agile than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming performance is noticeably superior on carpets with a low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of the most well-known robot vacuums The 694 is a basic model that's a good choice for people who don't want to spend too much money on a robot. It was able to pick up most types of debris in our tests, and frequently went over the same area many times to ensure a thorough clean. The flat front of the unit allows it reach into corners and along the edges of walls which is a nice touch.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capability of more advanced models like our top picks such as the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. Because of this, it is sometimes stuck on things like phone cords and furniture that isn't as sturdy, and frequently will run out of battery before returning to its original location.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer components that require regular cleaning, is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower costs for recurring expenses and has more advanced automation capabilities and can better move its own. It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.
The RoboVac X8 is a slick RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for most purposes, as it has a longer battery life, has the ability to alter its suction power mode manually, comes with physical boundary strips, and is operated by your phone's voice assistant. It is also more durable, has a stronger motor, and can perform better on floors with bare or low-pile.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a household name in the field of home electronics. It's not surprising that they are also among the top manufacturers of robot vacuums and mop. Their Jet Bot AI+ is equipped with cutting-edge onboard tech for navigation and obstacles avoidance.
The app offers a variety of customization options for your robotic cleaner. These include mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior adjustments docking frequency settings and much more. The app is simple to learn and use as are other Samsung devices.
In our testing our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and dealt with dog hair (on carpet) quite well, cleaning up 86% of it. However, it did not do particularly well in avoiding larger objects, like cords and socks which was a disappointment. It's priced higher than other models we've tested and this could be a problem for certain shoppers.
The smart vacuum has an onboard camera that you can access via the app, and you can also set up a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to check in on pets or kids when you're away from home. The filter and the dustbin can be washed for an easy, quick clean-up. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with an automatic clean station which helps to keep the robot's bin clear and improves suction power.

Unlike other robotic vacuums, that are made for hard floors and carpets, Black and Decker robots are specifically designed for hard floors. They have an extra wide cleaning path and a dustbin that is 2X bigger than the competitors. This lets them keep the area clean for longer. It also comes with a smart app that lets you browse the virtual map and manage the functions and schedules. Additionally, you can track the battery's status and return it to its dock to charge by pressing one button. The app allows you to personalize the LED lights on top of the vacuum using different colors so you can easily tell which areas it's focused on or where it's gotten stuck.
The app makes it possible to steer the robot manually, if necessary. My living room rug for example has a dark-colored border that could cause trouble for other robots. However, the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border, but it didn't register it as an incline. The ability to program a cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving benefit.
